Coloured thread

Another day of few photographs... Hum - I find it trickier when it's raining.

Today I didn't brave photography in the rain, but after ponding possible indoor photography ideas (other than photographing the beautiful tulips in a jug at home...), I took myself for a photo wander in the local arts and crafts shop. I always like the look of the displays of ribbons, string, wool, and thread, but have never been in to take photographs for photography's sake: I think it is the satisfying regularity and spreads of colour that leaps out at me...

So, after about 5 minutes of wondering around with my camera in my hand, I was focussing my lens on some mother-of-pearl buttons when I received a nudge, and the shop assistant said, "Ah hem, that isn't really allowed in here; people will worry that they're being included in the pictures". Oops.
She was very polite, so I felt more caught out than affronted.

I went on my merry way with five pictures of the displays of threads and buttons. I quite like the button ones, but it was rather dark in the depths of the shop, so the buttons weren't as crisp as I'd have liked them. As tempting as it is to go back with my tripod and/or remote flash, I suspect I'd be less politely ejected than I was today.
