Saturday 28 April 2012: All quiet
There are many excellent plans in Africa designed from outside and maybe not passed through African eyes, that haven't really worked.
We visited this magnificent structure today at the request of a local chief to see if we might be able to help.
It was built some years ago to give skills training to orphans in the area, or so I'm told. I've never seen it working at it's capacity and it looks like all activity has now halted.
Management issues, funding and now the termination of funding by the donors is something that happens all the time here in Malawi.
Maybe this was just out of scale with local capabilities. It's sad but maybe true.
