Munched

A leaf on one of my plum trees showing signs of autumn, and pear slug grazing.

The forecast today was for wind gusts up to 130 kph, but it was warm and sunny, with a pleasant nor'wester. Then, as I was spreading a large tarpaulin on my big log heap a sudden gust hit, enveloping me from head to toe. The roar from the tall firs around me was tremendous.

The nor'wester is a turbulent wind. There are calm spaces between the gusts, which make the gusts seem even worse. The house braces and creaks. It's quite exciting. I regret that it is now dark and I can't see what's happening. It is certainly very loud.
