Sunday 29 April 2012: New heap

Took some of the less composted bits of an old heap, combined it with another half finished heap; some kitchen waste; some hen pen; some manure; and topped it off with a layer of fresh grass clippings and a couple of buckets of water. Covered it and left to cook for a few weeks and then I'll give it a stir.

Then I topped up the veg bed I had just cleared of mile high weeds, with some of the finished article from the old heap.

All very satisfying.
