Apiarists at Work

Wandering across campus at lunchtime I caught our beekeepers at work. The hives were established as part of the Bradford Ecoversity project, and for most of the year sit quietly behind their green gauze. Something was afoot today though.

As a vegan, I eschew honey, and so prefer bee habitat projects like those promoted by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, but that's just me. I'm sure our campus beekeepers are trying to do it in the most ecological way.
