The Big Country

This is the vicarege Staðarstaður which I mentioned before and the place my father sent me to at 16 because I failed the grammar school exam and was keeping bad company - which was not true, I was just having fun, was lazy and self centered like most young men are. But I did this for my father this time and this is the place where I became a man.
Here I studied in the winter of 1960-1961 - getting to know the story of the place. Here Ari fróði (Ari the wise 1067-1148) wrote The Book of Icelanders and Galdra-Loftur or in English Loftur the Sorcerer stayed there when Satan was looking for him and later... read the story.
