Mallards with Black and Red

A surprise visit at the bird feeder today. He was standing guard while she munched on some seeds. A pair showed up last year, I wonder if it is the same couple? They stayed for a little while then waddled away. They were frustrating Red who wanted some seeds but she found some nearer to her. A nice surprise!
