Sunday 6 May 2012: Wacky Races

The engines are revving and the chequered flag is about to raised on this, the second stage of the Wacky Races from the CGP Pitstop in Broughton-in-Furness. Yesterday's leader, the Arkansas Chug-a-bug, will be hoping to make a quick getaway to consolidate their position. But the competition, particularly Penelope Pitstop in the Compact Pussycat and Peter Perfect in the Turbo Terrific, will not be eating the Chug-a-bug dust for long. Dick Dastardly and (hee hee hee) Muttley have a 15 minute penalty start following yesterday's deliberate attempt to scupper the race by heightening the wheels of the Mean Machine to give them an advantage over the competition. The fact that they became entangled in the finish banner and finished in last place did not stop the judges from penalising them today!

Relay Day today at Helsington Barrows above Kendal. An easy course and I did not let my team mates Chris and Nick down in the Men's Short Race thankfully! Tomorrow, Urban Sprint in Kendal....in the rain apparently!
