Tuesday 8 May 2012: Roadside abstract
Fallen jasmine flowers on a jour ferié (bank holiday) to commemorate Victory in Europe in 1945, a day when I remember that wars still go on, soldiers and civilians continue to fall, our politicians fail to learn from the past.
It's also a day that started very well for me, learning that my daughter's plane back from New York had landed safely. I'm looking forward to hearing all about her trip later, if she's not too jet-lagged after an all-night journey!
