The local primary School

The girls arrived on the farm early on a wet rainy morning to walk to school with the farm children. The walk was twenty minutes and they arrived at 7.25 to find only one teacher present and two students. Time passed and the children came, then the school principal and later some teachers. Many classes had no teacher even though some teachers doubled up on classes.
Kate, Aoife and Nicole just wanted to see how the children were getting on, but were treated with a fair degree of suspicion.
Teachers with whom our team did training, last Summer, were very willing to help of course.
I met Joseph, a star teacher who was looking for fruit trees from me and talking about appointments. I just told him to visit the farm and pick some up. I haven't time for appointments: they are for Malawian bureaucracy!
Anyway the kids had a great break time, as you can see, and we brought our lot home in the back of the pick-up.
Learning is hard here.
