stocking up the pantry

On our walk today along a rather overgrown path, Astro and I came across this character hanging out in its web right across the path.
Fortuanately the web was quite high so a blundering hound didn't destroy it.

I think it's an Orb Spider of some sort and it had collected a whole swag of flying ants which it was methodically encasing in web silk for a lot of 'ready meals'. The rain brings out the flying ants and this spider is making the most of the current harvest.
How very enterprising.
By the way, the abdomen was the size of a substantial grape...not an incy wincy at all.
