Sunday 13 May 2012: Up above the streets & houses

Well, not exactly - there were no rainbows today, & in fact our lives have been rather lacking in rainbows over the past week or so.
But anyway, the sun was shining today so we went exploring, & finally found our way up on to the viaduct. I love the jumble of rooftops & the fantastic attention to detail in the Victorian architecture: it always amazes me the trouble they went to over the tiniest detail - even if nobody other than the builders themselves would ever really see the work; what a shame that so few people take such pride in their work these days. I guess having this view must be handy for residents wishing to check out the state of their rooftops; & I rather like the roof gardens on the building which has recently been converted to luxury apartments with 'urban chic'
