Crabapples and silvereyes

Today was colder and greyer than yesterday. In fact I believe we had an overnight frost though it was melted before I left home at 7.30am. When I got to work it was only 2 deg celcius. Brrrr.

I spent my lunch break today supervising a group of boys playing dodge ball in the gym and although I took lots of photos I don't feel I can blip any without parental permission. Instead I ducked out of school for a minute, once the kids had left at 3, and took photos of waxeyes on the crabapple tree across the road. Of course that minute extended into 10 minutes watching the antics of the birds.

The dull sky has really made the bright apples and autumn leaves stand out - the lovely wee waxeye is almost secondary really.
