Friday 18 May 2012: The man with the painted violin

Djinn Maury, musician, author, artist. He was playing on Hawthorne Boulevard today and I was immediately drawn to this energetic, dreadlocked, tattooed and bejeweled young man with a contagious smile and painted violin. He plays original music, and mostly improvises (which to this musician is impressive!). I found a clip on YouTube of him playing on the street; you can get an idea of what I was treated to.

It was serendipitous to find a painted violin after reading Lookseeclick on the Violin Trail in her city.

If the colorful heads in the window behind Djinn look familiar, I blipped them awhile back.
