To See New Englandly

Monday 20 October 2008: Pun'kin Patch

Probably the last of my autumn landscapes. As you can see, the color is fading, but I found some bright spots in a local pumpkin field. When I first got to the field I saw some low-lying black lumps out in the field. I thought, "Jeez...now I have to walk way around the field so I don't get those trash bags in the shot." After I took this shot, I headed back toward the car and looked out at the trash bags. They were moving! It turned out there was a flock of wild turkeys working its way through the field. I didn't really get close enough for a decent shot as they kept running away from me, but I relished the irony of capturing two key ingredients to an American Thanksgiving feast in their natural setting!

On another note, just back-blipped for the first time :) Not that I'm complaining! I'm so happy Blip is back. I haven't broken the news yet to my husband. He's been enjoying more of my company the past few days. Just like the old "preBlip" days.
