Monday 21 May 2012: Abandoned spade
It's always the paper boy who finds things. The first one on the scene when there's been something grizzly going on. Maybe that's why I didn't stick at doing a paper round when I was younger. But it makes you think.
So this morning, when I veered 'off the beaten track' on a little detour up a hill and back down again (Moonwalk Training of sorts), I was surprised to see a spade abandoned not far from the trail I was following. No good could come of finding out why it was there. I paced on with new resolve to get back to civilisation as soon as I could.
