ONE FOR SORROW

Stayed at home today as I had a few things to get on with.  Didn't really get much done though but there's always tomorrow.

Took this shot of a magpie this morning.  At the time I remembered the magpie rhyme which starts " One for sorrow " etc.  Newcastle United football club have a magpie as their emblem.  Little did I know that sorrow was in store later in the day.

I listened to the match on the radio - 5.30pm kick off.  Newcastle United were away at Manchester City.  The final score was Manchester City 5   Newcastle United 0. It was the worst performance by a Newcastle side for a long, long time. 

Read this on a social media fan site.  It says it all really.

" One day we will have a team that we can be proud of again.  A team that plays with the same passion that the fans put in week in week out instead of just picking up a wage packet at the end of the week.

One day we will have an owner that repays the fans with players that excite us again instead of robbing us blind.

One day we will have a manager that knows what the F***K he is doing.

Wish that day would come - the  sooner the better.
