Different lens - different technique

It's been another scorching day here, with just enough breeze to make the heat bearable for people like me who are best suited to life in the cold north. I wandered around the garden in late afternoon and used my 70 - 300mm lens to capture flowers. This is taken at near to 300mm so the depth of field is shallow and the petals have that deliberate soft focus effect. (I quite like it.) The bumble bee is a bonus.

Packing for Langholm Walking Festival which starts tomorrow. Going to be a hot weekend I think.
