Smoke on the Water

Not too stiff after all our exertions yesterday but we slept like logs! I went into Bantry with HImself today and got all the fun bits - choosing cheeses and olives and itneresting things from the market, while he slaved over a hectic Super Valu (sic). The first biggish market since before Christmas and everyone was in a good mood mainly because it wasn't raining.
I've sown some lettuce and broadbeans and planted out some primulas, then we did a gentle lap of the circuit, Enough for one day and more Wolf Hall to enjoy tonight - we just watched episode one yesterday. Great stuff.

Thank you for all entries to Derelict Thursday ( I think there's a challenge for every day of the week now!). As usual a wonderful variety of delapidation: sheds in various states of decomposition, a rare sighting of a Van Gogh painting, skulls, asylums, a colourful barber's, a parachute drying tower, forlorn benches and bottomless chairs, a seaside sofa, graves, waterlogged boats and spooky castles, rancid rubbish, rusty tools, once elegant mansions a rabbit hutch,  remnants of beautiful stained glass,  bikes and cars slowly being suffocated by nature, sluices and faded florals. Bricks, stone, barbed wire , clapperboard, rust, tiles, peeling paint - textures in all their glory.

My five faves in no particular order are (and what a difficult selection):

Private Car Park by PhilipPhoto - just so much to look at, plus a spot of glamping
Guess what this is? - I couldn't and what an unusual building, beautifully blipped at just the right moment
Derelict Details by ShyFlamingo - wonderful details, what a fine building this must have been once
Derelict Thursday: Barn- Lato by PirkkoM, pristine dereliction with a difference
Indoor, Outdoor, Flow by Mario, this week's house I'd like to move into, with a few adjustments!

And a note from Himself with his faves:
I am not blipping at the moment but I made a commitment to SarumStroller to keep this challenge going so will pop back every Friday for my DT review. As usual we have not conferred but Herself will add this to the selection on her page.

DIY Enthusiast Needed? by CatchitwhenIcan; Dereliction in all its mono glory!
Private Car Park by Philiphoto; Definitively derelict with the overall effect enhanced by the processing.
Garage by Veronica; A wonderful assembly of faded colour, texture and multi-layered lettering.
Barberism   by bignonioides; Such a lot to look at in this image from the colour to the varied linear patterns and that faded lettering.
The Truck in the Yard   by Miranda1008; Beautiful light and textures helped by the subtly toned mono processing.

If all those links work I'll be astonished. I need a lie down after all that and a bit of air guitar.............................
