Sunday 27 May 2012: Lazy Sunday

Sat in the garden with breakfast and then didn't really move until late afternoon when it was time for my Mum to head back home.

The garden was alive with insects. So many damselflies, some in pairs and laying eggs in our soon-to-be replaced pond. There were chafers, hoverflies and lots of bees around. Great to watch with my worn out feet up.

I was watching this damselfly as it was lurking in the lavender. Suddenly it took off and caught an aphid in mid air. I then watched it chomp up the aphid. You can just see the green of the body and wings around the mouth of the insect.

Looking forward to an equally lazy evening on this lovely hot and sunny
Sunday.
