Langholm

1. My new washing machine arrives at 7.03am. By 7.15 am, I close the door on the friendly chaps who fixed me up and pop back to bed for a bit.

2. Off in the sunshine to collect my hire car, pop to Colin's water the plants, and hit the road.

3. I make it to Langholm by around 2.30pm. I've never been here before, it's where Hugh McDiarmid lived. It's very pretty.

4. There may be nothing finer than seeing someone you have been missing for the first time in ages.

5. A great afternoon and evening - walking, papers, pint, dinner, blethers, brandy.
