Tuesday 29 May 2012: Well done girls!
The chickens are laying really well - an egg a day from each of them. The kids love checking for the eggs and always say "oh WELL DONE girls!" when they pick them out the nesting box. Sam finally got the fence finished today so they've now moved up to a lovely big space at the top of the orchard, full of long grass, weeds, damson trees, and no doubt countless bugs and critters to feast on. It blows my mind that they can eat all those scraps of things and turn them into delicious eggs - amazing!
