If you can't beat them...

The Wales Millennium Centre.

This is where I will be spending most of the next few days.  What an impressive building, I found the words (which are actually windows) intriguing.  The wording says in Welsh Creu Gwir fel gwydr o ffwrnais awenn, which means (I am told) "Creating truth like glass from the furnace of inspiration."  these words are from a poem by Welsh poet Gwyneth Lewis.  The English words say "In These Stones Horizons Sing".

The stone work is banded to represent the layers in sea cliffs and appears to be different colours of slate.  The brown material is oxidized copper sheet. which must be worth a fortune.

The area around the centre is fascinating with the oval basin having been filled in and sloped to run down to the bay.  It is now known as Roald Dahls Plass as he was christened in a small church nearby.
