British Lung Foundation

Steven is riding the Etape Loch Ness on Sunday. At the same time as he's enjoying himself by wheeling around 106km of the most beautiful countryside in the world he's raising funds for the British Lung Foundation. Our family is full of asthmatics and people with COPD and Steven's mum in particular has really benefited from  exercise classes and other support groups run by the BLF so it seemed a good organisation to support.

Today he was fitting in a good long run on his day off before tapering (I believe that's what it's called) towards the weekend. He decided to give his sponsor jersey a trial run too. He had a beautiful morning for a cycle, although it was a very strong gusty wind, and both he and his jersey completed the route in fine form . He also added in a couple of turns up the steepest hills he could find as he's wanting to make sure he doesn't go up that steep ride out of Fort Augustus at too slow a pace.

Unfortunately I wont be able to go down to Inverness to cheer him on  but I'm hoping that Mr Smith will get his own lungs back on form and be able to make the ride so that they can pass a few words of encouragement to each other if they happen to meet amongst the crowds of cyclists. Hopefully after seeing this pic he may recognise Steven as it's been a long time since they met.

Should you wish  to sponsor Steven in aid of the British Lung Foundation you can do so here.

Best of luck to anyone who's taking part on the event!
