Public Art

KC, our very talented, dedicated and energetic middle-school art teacher, has once again inspired and led her students to complete a fabulous public art project, this time on the Soquel Avenue bridge spanning the San Lorenzo River.  Over a period of six weeks the kids researched agricultural products of Santa Cruz County, designed their individual images, and created and installed 93 mosaic panels on the downtown bridge. When public funding was unavailable, KC raised the funds herself from private donors through Kickstarter. This amazing project was dedicated today, and it was wonderful to see so many people strolling over the bridge and exclaiming over the extraordinary art.
