GULL 1 GUILLEMOT 0

We went to Bempton cliffs today, neatly arriving before the roads were closed as Team Wiggins et al raced through the village from Scarborough in the Tour de Yorkshire.

There were Gannets and Guillemots, Razorbills and Puffins, and the weather played fair. This Herring Gull landed on a grass slope with a Guillemot's egg for lunch and seemed so worried about the following gull that he practically walked straight up to me. I was in  the right place at the right time for once. The same could not be said for the egg, but I have been told the adult will lay again.

My first "extra photo" as Gannets are one of my favourite birds.
