Our plans to take the 2 hour bus to Otavalo market were foiled when neither Rachel or I could make it out of bed at the required time this morning. Instead we went to the Artesan market in Quito and made some rash purchases - I got myself a jumper and a massive blanket which is in no way ever going to fit in my bag. We also managed to completely embarrass ourselves by offering a stall owner $20 for a poncho which we thought she had pitched at $40. Turns out she had actually said $14 and our Spanish numbers just needed some work, we quickly realised we had lost all bargaining power and Rachel paid up the $14.

After shopping we hit up Plaza Foche and had some overpriced coffee and snacks. Turns out Ecuador is much more expensive than the other countries we've spent time in.
