Monday 4 June 2012: jubilee
With great intentions to sit up last night and watch the Jubilee Regatta I admit to falling asleep half way through! Caught up on the highlights today.
The Commonwealth issue is a complicated one with sovereign nations and the allegiance to the British Crown, but there is something quite spectacular about the ceremony and circumstance of royalty and the celebration of history. I also admit to ' a lump in the throat and a tear in the eye', especially when the War Horse 'puppet' reared in salute on the roof of the NT and the sodden singers of the London Symphony Chorus belted out Land of Hope and Glory.
Blimey, what a show and what a river to parade 1000 craft upon.
