One Crowded Hour

Winter is all of five days old and these two were having a rare old time in a neighbour's garden so perhaps spring is in the air too.

A Common Bronze Wing Pigeon pair, they are native to Aus and quietly fossick around in the leaf litter and dust. Iridescent bronzy patches on the wings glint and gleam in sunlight and they make an incredible softly booming (if booms can be soft) 'whooooooo' sound that can hum through the undergrowth for ages until they are disturbed or discovered.

These two were so into the kanoodling they were oblivious to all the comings and going in the street.
