Tuesday 5 June 2012: Coots
I wasn't going to post again before I left on vacation, but how can I resist one more bird baby shot?
There were 2 adult coots and 2 babies; each adult was feeding a baby, though they seemed to swap them now and then. Coots are very common around here, second only to Canada geese as lawn eaters. There have been fewer around lately and now I see why.
