Sistine
As displays of extreme wealth and power go, there can't be much to touch the Vatican. St Peter's is impressive for its scale but the Sistine Chapel is breathtaking mainly for the hypocrisy of the attendant (presumably under orders) telling the people that have been charged 15 euros each to walk for miles through galleries to be quiet and to stop taking photos. It's a sacred place you know. Aye, I'll believe that when they've shut the gift shop.
