Wednesday 6 June 2012: Bird's-nest Orchid
We had a day off work. We decided to jump on a boat to Runmarö - a beautiful island in the Stockholm archipelago. We spotted lots of beautiful orchids - this one was only in bud, but it's so cool we couldn't resist blipping it. It hasn't got any chlorophyll, as you can see. Instead it gets its energy from mykorrhiza.
