THE DONKEY IN THE FIELD

in Beverunen, where we went by car to have the winter tyres changed for the summer ones.
This morning I stod by the dianthus flowers and look there came the hummingbird moth, it was half past eleven.
I wondered if this was another one, family perhaps, or did this creature come because I stood there?
Mysteries!

My haiku:

I have the carrots
You that melancolic eye
I'll enliven you

And the proverb:

If they come, they come not; if they come not, they come.

1662  Fuller.
