Team work

Regular readers of my journal know that I spend an awful lot of my time in meetings. Today was no exception. However, the main event today pictured here is a regular favourite of mine. Twice a year we hold an 'all centre' meeting to which all members of my group are invited to come and give an update on their research over the past six months, and their plans for the next six month period.

In all the time that we have been doing this we have never managed to gather everyone at once. This is due to various reasons ranging from conflicts with external events to unexpected personal commitments: I had to miss it last time. Today four people were missing, but I am pleased that everyone who was there agreed to be photographed.

From left to right we have:

Seated: LR - new PhD graduate; PC - lecturer; JM - research student; FR - research student; ED - emeritus professor; hazelh - professor and research centre director
Standing: CS - senior lecturer; LK - research student; ET-S - research student; IB - research student; CI - research fellow; BR - research associate
Unable to attend: LA - research student; AD - professor; EF - research fellow; and HR - new PhD graduate.

By the way, we don't have Prosecco at all our meetings, but only on special occasions. Today we raised a toast to LR and HR to mark the completion of their PhDs.

Exercise today: 11,459 steps.
