Peeping through the beech hedge

After three bleak blips in a row it was about time for a more cheerful one. The glorious sunshine today made it possible.

We had a full day at the allotment, cutting down dying stalks of perennials, raking leaves and preparing a lovely compost mix of horse dung, maple leaves and other decaying organic stuff. It was about -1°C, so several layers of clothing were needed in order to keep warm.

Lunch and coffee breaks in the warm and snug little cottage made the day even better!
