Saturday 9 June 2012: Bucket-Rattle-o-Meter...

We worked out a new way of measuring and classifying the bumpiness of the cycle path out by South Queensferry. Bethany being the only one with a basket on her bike (I didn't even have a front wheel), was designated transporter of the bucket and our spoils from the beach.

We were able to aurally judge the state of the path via the rattling coming from the bucket of shells.

It was a very mixed day of weather, dry morning, sunny afternoon and absolutely peeing down now. We luckily decided to go for a wee cycle in the wee afternoon weather respite and found the the Forth is very, very tidal at sections and we managed to find about half a mile worth of sand stretched out toward the middle of the river. It's a bit odd realising that we were building sandcastles on a section of sand that will be well below the waterline in a couple of hours.
