Creels

How fickle is the weather at the moment.
After an evening and night of rain, the morning dawned still and sunny in Stromness with low loosely woven cloud cloaking the tops of the Hoy hills.

I had my pre breakfast walk round the town to the Ness marvelling at the peace of the early morning, a peace only broken by seagulls squabbling over the black bin bags put out for the rubbish collection.
The mess they made when they succeeded in pecking them open, was not pretty.

Back at the harbour, the Hamnavoe had already departed for Scrabster on the mainland and I watched as the Graemsay cast off its mooring ropes for the short journey to Graemsay and Hoy.

There were still few people out and about, which is such a welcome difference from Edinburgh at the same time.

I got back home in time to watch a rain shower dash our hopes for a rain free day; but its a business oriented morning, so the weather shouldn't feature too much.
Just because we are on holiday for a month unfortunately doesn't mean we can ignore the nitty gritty of general living.

Edit. I've just bumped into MsGable in the Street. These blippers are everywhere
