I've been trying to photograph this Kestrel for ages. Whenever I've seen it, I've been driving or without camera. But today the two of us met up on the seafront. It would have been better it I'd been on the clifftop, as I would have been closer, but I'm not complaining.

I'm pretty sure this is the male and his mate is probably on or near their nest which they have made in a large nest box situated some way up a radar tower on the marshes.

Kestrels have a territory which can be about seven square miles, and this one I see at various places, hovering above the cliffs on the lookout for small mammals or birds. They don't have it all their own way though, as this one was soon shooed away by a passing Common Gull!
