Monday 28 May 2012: Basking Shark

We left Tobermoray and were soon detecting porpoises on the hydrophones then we sighted some Basking Sharks (5) more porpoise & seals. then as we passed through the Sound of Gunna we encountered a group of 20 Basking Sharks!. They were some sight up to 10 Mters in length and some passed right across our bow under the prow of the ship, you could easily understand how in olden times how reports of Sea Monsters could be made. some of these had mouths a metre and a half wide!
