Life through the lens...

Allen Banks

Back Blip. Friday.
The highlight of the day ( apart from meeting Charlie!) was a walk along the River Allen, near Hexham. See map.
This photo is of the new swing bridge. The other was damaged by floods a few years ago.
It was a beautiful walk.
We saw some dippers, as well as a couple of herons.
So glad J took us there. She had not been before, but had been told about it by friends at work.
The morning had been spent looking round Hexham, with a visit to the beautiful Abbey,Priory, Church of St Andrew. Founded in AD 674.
 (see extra photo.)
Also went to Corbridge which is another lovely small town with a lot of history.
Only had time for a glass of wine, sat outside in the sunshine.
The day finished with a meal at a local Italian restaurant.
What a great day, and haven't laughed so much for ages!
