The Good Mother

Bluebell, a lovely natured cow, providing food and shelter for her calf, Joka.   It has been a very wet year, the ground is sodden and the fields are being poached to mud by the cattle's hooves.

Unusual to see feeders being used in July, but the grass has been slow to grow because of the weather, lots of chilly winds, so many of the farmers are feeding silage to the cows out in the fields.  Seems to be doing the job here, these cows and calves are looking in excellent condition.
