Tomatillo

In Mexico they are used like green tomatoes in salsas and salads. I don't remember them being on the menu when I was there. Cactus, yes.

Bigger than a physalis and with the same green husk they are a bit hit or miss in terms of sweetness (the mouse wasn't impressed) but they have a nice complexity and slight zestiness.
