Tortoiseshell

Today's the day ........................ when the bush was full

I'm pleased to tell you that for the first time this year - the butterfly bush has been full of butterflies.

Admittedly, they were all tortoiseshells - but that's no hardship because they are one of my favourites.  So let's hope that it's the same with other sorts and that they will have enough time before the end of summer to make sure that we have butterflies next year.

It's been a worrying time for Lepidopterists .....................
