Phantom Hills

Our mountains were magnificent today, but these distant hills caught my eye. Late morning only their upper surfaces were visible. They are in North Canterbury. The trees, of course, are cabbage trees.

It has been very cold today. The air temperature didn't get up to 0ºC until midday. Then the high was below 3º.
