Birthday boat

I bought my hubby a new kayak for his fiftieth. This one is smaller and much lighter than our other one - so he should be able to get out and enjoy the river more.

Today the whole family christened it with shots of whiskey and sent it on its maiden voyage- a test run in the lake where we're vacationing.

Hubby says the new hybrid airframe is almost too comfortable; it's tempting to just nap instead of paddling ;)
