Brown

We went up to the allotment and toiled away for some time. The grass and the weeds were so bad I'm surprised we haven't had a letter of reprimand. I tried to take a photo of a bumblebee on a flower but it eluded me - luckily bignoniodes got one!

This feller is probably a Meadow Brown - extremely widespread in the UK apparently, but I don't see them very often and had to look him up in the butterfly book.
