Woolpress

Not exactly an exciting thing to blip but needs to be recorded.
These two tables used to be part of my Dad's wool press when we farmed at Seadown on the northern side of Timaru. When he retired we inherited (even then) this old wool press and used it in our small wool shed when we shore our small flock of sheep.  38 years later we moved up the road and built our new home with no need for a wool press any more but it had sentimental value.  Sat in the shed, riddled with borer for a couple of years taking up valuable space in the man shed. Recently, and not knowing what to do with it, it almost hit the rubbish pile.
Yes, I whinged a bit and between us we came up with the idea of making a couple of very grungy outdoor tables.

Btw, behind the tables is my Dad's Fergie 35 tractor, which served him for many years and us for 38 years. It had a pesky oil leak which in turn complicated its recovery Doug over winter overhauled it and now it hums along like a charm.

Doug is handy and a versatile bloke. Good in the kitchen too. ;)

If you have the time take a look at these,.....aww.

The Eccle Cakes were a real hit!!
