Monday 18 June 2012: newly hatched Tricolored Heron
-I went to the wetlands boardwalk after work, to keep that camping feeling going a little longer, and to check up on what was going on.
I've noticed this heron's nest before, and had seen one blue egg when the parent stood up. After getting some nice shots of Purple Gallinules when the sun was out, it was behind a big cloud when I was lucky enough to see the parent cleaning up the nest as this new baby sat up. There was another little fluff ball behind this one, that had it's head down, and you can still see one egg. Wish the light had been better, but had to go with this baby.
