This time I heard him...

I was downstairs working on my computer when I heard his call. I could tell he was on the deck so I ran upstairs and there he was. He stayed a long time. And while he was there the flicker and a flock of evening grosbeaks came along too. It was a hard choice. This is one of him and one of the Grosbeaks.

I am on my computer today (9/15) so I can add a couple of photos. For a time the Flicker and the Pileated Woodpecker were on the deck together. I got a good wingspread shot from behind. And I liked how he raised his head feathers when curious or alert.
