What a day. Hard at it, I was. Which was just as well; I'd otherwise have fallen asleep at my desk.
Home to discover that hundreds of people had died in a crush near Mecca. A tragedy, undoubtedly, but then I read a bit more. It seems there are some stone pillars representing the devil, and these crazy buggers get in there and throw stones at them. Now, I'm no great religious scholar, but that strikes me as more than a little foolhardy. If there was some devil pillar hereabouts, I'd cross to the other side of the street, and maybe even break into a little trot. You don't mess with that dude, that's for sure.
